groov EPIC Controller: Real-Time Edge Processing with Power & Precision

At the heart of the system is a Quad-core ARM Cortex A9 processor running a real-time, Linux-based OS. The PR1 offers 2 GB RAM and 6 GB user space, while the PR2 model boosts performance with 3.75 GB RAM and 22 GB user space—both with industrial SSDs and power-fail-safe file systems. Engineered for edge computing, control, and data handling—all in one.

With dual gigabit Ethernet ports for segmentation, an HDMI port for external displays, and dual USB ports for data, peripherals, or Wi-Fi adapters, groov EPIC adapts to your setup. Operating reliably from -20 °C to 70 °C, it’s made for real-world industrial use.

Support for global voltage ranges with 110–240 VAC power supplies, 24–48 VDC converters, and pass-through adapters (10–15 VDC up to 9A). Modular, reliable, and built to power every groov EPIC installation—no matter the environment.

A high-resolution touchscreen gives instant access to groov Manage and groov View for configuring I/O, viewing diagnostics, and monitoring systems. Includes HDMI output for external displays. Built into the controller—no extra setup required.

Available in 0, 4, 8, or 16-module options, the stainless steel chassis is engineered for thermal efficiency and modular expansion. Its highly ventilated design ensures long-term reliability in demanding industrial settings, supporting a wide range of I/O configurations.

Choose from 4 to 24 channels per module, with isolated or non-isolated versions. Modules are hot-swappable and cost-effective, with integrated wire ways and hinged tops for easier wiring. Each module locks into the chassis securely with a single captive screw—designed for durability and simplicity in industrial environments.

Software

groov EPIC Software

Smart Inside. Ready for Anything.

groov Manage: Built-In Configuration & Secure System Control

Configure, monitor, and secure your groov EPIC system—no PC or software installation required. groov Manage provides full access to I/O, user roles, diagnostics, and data services like MQTT, OPC UA, and REST APIs—all from the onboard touchscreen or any browser.

groov EPIC gives you total control flexibility—use PAC Control for flowchart logic or CODESYS for IEC 61131-3 programming. Plus, access scripting tools like Python, Java, and SSH to customise your edge automation environment.

groov View is your built-in HMI for designing browser-based dashboards accessible over HTTPS. Monitor live data from Modbus, OPC UA, SNAP PACs, or groov I/O—no software to install, no limits on where you view it.

With Node-RED on groov EPIC, build logic flows that connect databases, cloud apps, and industrial systems using visual drag-and-drop programming. Ideal for rapid prototyping or bridging legacy protocols with modern IIoT.

groov EPIC includes optional Ignition Edge for powerful on-site HMI, data logging, and protocol translation. With MQTT Sparkplug B support, publish structured data directly to the cloud while managing tags, drivers, and edge analytics locally.
