Do I need a PLC or PAC to use groov RIO?
No, groov RIO does not require a PLC or PAC to operate. It supports onboard processing, flow-based logic with Node-RED, and secure integration through RESTful APIs—but if needed, you can also integrate it with a PLC, PAC, or SCADA system as part of a larger control architecture.
What types of I/O does groov RIO support?
groov RIO offers universal, software-configurable I/O, allowing each of its channels to be individually set as analog input or output, digital input or output, thermocouple input, frequency input, and more. This flexibility eliminates the need for selecting and stocking multiple I/O module types, simplifies panel design, and enables fast reconfiguration to suit changing application needs—all within a single compact device.
How is groov RIO programmed or configured?
You can access groov RIO’s built-in interface through any modern web browser, use Node-RED for flow-based programming, or integrate with external systems using REST, MQTT, Modbus/TCP, or OptoMMP protocols.
